About the artists
-
Through abstract representation and a highly saturated palette, John’s most recent work dares to express the unfathomable beauty of creation within his landscape-inspired scenes. A capsule collection of playful ink on paper forms from his portfolio are also on display.
John creates in a variety of mediums including ink, acrylic, colored pencil and oil pastel. He includes found materials into his work, utilizing alternative substrates beyond the traditional canvas. This is John’s second show at West Gallery. His first was in 2021.

Aleks Soroka's art is a quiet Russian rebellion. Born in Belarus, the artist and his family moved to the United States after the fall of communism. As a young man, Aleks was interested in pursuing graphic design, but instead studied business management at the behest of his immigrant parents.
Over the last 7 years, in gentle acceptance of himself and his creative passion, Aleks has poured acrylic on canvas, vinyl, wood and any other material that catches his eye. Along with fluid painting, Aleks engages his artistry through photography, cooking and craft-making in Baltimore, Maryland.
